Driving a Mario Kart in Japan
My friend just came back from a holiday in Japan. she actually got proposed too while over there in the thick snow. A beautiful moment and stunning photos.
My friend told me while in Japan, they drove Mario Kart’s on the road in Japan. Now, I knew about this but I also completely forgot about it. She said it was a bit scary driving on the road when you feel so small against the cars next to you. However, she loved how everyone in the cars were waving to them, while they were driving in their Mario Karts.
What I didn’t know is you also get to dress up to drive in the kart and they looked incredibly cute.
So what am I talking about exactly?
In Japan, you enter a go-kart type mini car on a real road in various places around Japan. It’s like a tour group and you drive two x two together in a group of go-karts. You can choose from tours that 60, 90 or 120 minutes long.
I do have to wonder if you get to see much during your travels, way down low, while focusing on the road. But even if you didn’t really notice the world around you, I think it would be incredibly fun and you have to try the experience at least once.
The company that I googled who do offer this go-karting experience tour guide says they promote safety. So it’s good they see safety as a need and considered it for this type of tour.
I’m not sure how fast you can go but I assume you go the speed of the roads and stay together as a group. It’s interesting you don’t wear helmets but I guess you wouldn’t wear helmets driving a car either.
It’s also cool it’s a group activity. And I’m sure even if you don’t know everyone personally you wouldn’t wear helmets share the coolest experience with those people you go-karted with and it would be memorable forever. I can see it, showing the grandkids your photos and telling them stories about the fun people you met while go-karting in a Mario Kart in Japan.
Have you ever been Mario-karting in Japan? Please comment below your experience with it.
